From the early morning hours, the entire headquarters precinct was imbued with a dignified yet vibrant atmosphere. Resounding drumbeats, coordinated cheering and the vivid colours of flags, banners and backdrops transformed the campus into a genuine festival of sport, signalling the formal commencement of the Group’s largest internal event of the year. Nearly 200 athletes representing four Alliance Teams – Headquarters, Logistics, Bac Tien Phong and Seaport – entered the finals across four disciplines: table tennis, pickleball, short-distance track events and tug of war.

Delivering remarks at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Quoc Bao, Deputy CEO of Hateco Group and Head of the Organizing Committee, underscored the broader significance of the festival: “This year’s sports day is not merely a stage to showcase physical strength, but a true celebration of spirit, willpower and the distinctive Hateco character. Every athlete who steps onto the court or the track is competing not only for victory, but also for team colours and for the pride of carrying the Hateco name – people who dare to think, dare to act and continuously strive to conquer new peaks.”

Right from the first season of Hateco Sports Day, it has been positioned as an important component of the Group’s internal culture agenda. Immediately after the opening ceremony, attention turned to the indoor arena, where the table tennis finals commenced. As one of the most anticipated disciplines, table tennis brought together experienced players and attracted close interest from Hateco Group’s Board of Directors .

Matches unfolded in a highly focused, competitive atmosphere, with rapid rallies, sharp attacking strokes and clear tactical thinking. The athletes’ professionalism and composure were evident in every point, creating an engaging and technically impressive series of contests. Particularly noteworthy were the moments when members of senior management directly took to the table, sending a strong message about the leadership’s commitment to a healthy lifestyle, fair play and a cohesive corporate culture.

The pickleball court emerged as a new “hot spot”, recording the highest number of participating teams and consistently attracting hundreds of enthusiastic supporters. With its modern, accessible and highly entertaining nature, the discipline quickly spread a youthful, dynamic spirit, becoming one of the standout highlights of Hateco Sports Day 2025. The lively atmosphere at the pickleball court was not only a source of sporting enjoyment, but also a clear reflection of the spirit of innovation and the positive energy now spreading throughout the Hateco community. 

Throughout the day, the courts maintained a consistently high level of energy, with fast-paced exchanges and enthusiastic support from the stands. The combination of contemporary sporting elements and lively social interaction turned pickleball into a genuine “hot spot” of the festival, often drawing hundreds of spectators at a time.

Beyond the scores and rankings, the atmosphere at the pickleball courts vividly reflected Hateco’s orientation towards a youthful, innovative and open corporate culture, one that values both performance and enjoyment, both discipline and creativity.

The atmosphere reached its peak at the “physical strength arena” with two of the most demanding disciplines: track events and the team tug-of-war competition. In these contests, athletes turned every drop of sweat into a symbol of effort, as the spirit of pushing beyond one’s limits and the collective strength of Hateco people were affirmed in a complete and striking way. 

In the short-distance track events, the racetrack bore witness to individual effort and the athletes’ determination to push beyond their limits. Each race unfolded in an atmosphere of intense concentration, where every stride reflected willpower, resolve and a serious competitive spirit. The heat on the track was continuously fuelled by the enthusiastic encouragement of teammates, creating a positive and inspiring competitive environment. The support from the Alliance Teams generated a strong current of positive energy, turning the track into a microcosm of the spirit of breakthrough that has accompanied Hateco throughout its 21-year journey.

Tug of war provided the emotional climax of the festival, placing absolute emphasis on collective strength, coordination and unity. Each contest was a direct demonstration of teamwork, in which rhythm, timing and shared effort determined success.

Support from teammates and spectators – expressed through rhythmic chants and coordinated cheering – added further momentum to each pull of the rope. In this way, tug of war emerged as a vivid metaphor for Hateco’s organisational values: the ability to unite, share responsibility and support one another in pursuit of common objectives. The discipline thus became the clearest embodiment of the spirit “United in purpose – United in strength – United in success” that the Group seeks to embed deeply within its corporate culture.

The trophies and medals presented were not only recognition of sporting achievement, but also symbols of discipline, perseverance and a serious attitude towards collective activities. The presence of the leadership at the ceremony, along with congratulatory handshakes and sincere words of recognition, further emphasised the Group’s view of sport as an important medium for building solidarity and a resilient workforce. 

As a special highlight, a commemorative cup was presented to the Chairman of Hateco Group, symbolising the Group’s appreciation for leadership support and representing the aspiration to maintain Hateco Sports Day as a regular, institutionalised feature of the Group’s internal culture.
