The ceremony was attended by Mr. Pham Gia Tuc – Member of the Politburo and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister – together with leaders of central ministries, agencies, local authorities and Da Nang City, as well as representatives of domestic and international organizations and enterprises.

The opening program featured carefully choreographed artistic performances recreating the journey toward the open sea and the aspiration for development, creating an atmosphere that was both prestigious and emotionally inspiring.

Immediately afterward, delegates watched a video introducing the Lien Chieu Container Terminal. Through immersive 3D visuals, the film clearly illustrated the scale, structure and development vision of the project, from its modern terminal system and synchronized infrastructure to its smart operating model deeply integrated into the global logistics chain.

Beyond presenting a major infrastructure project, the video also offered a concrete vision of the future Lien Chieu terminal area — a convergence of strategic vision, advanced technology and sustainable green development.

Speeches and Strategic Orientation: Shared Vision, Strong Commitment

Continuing the program, representing the Consortium, Mr. Tran Van Ky – Chairman of Hateco Group – shared the development vision for the project, emphasizing that this is not merely an infrastructure project, but a concrete step toward translating strategic orientations into reality. The Consortium committed to implementing the project with high standards of progress, quality and governance, aiming to develop a modern and synchronized seaport with deep connectivity to the global supply chain.

Recognizing the commitment of the Consortium, leaders of the Da Nang People’s Committee affirmed the strategic role of Lien Chieu Port in the city’s development strategy. Beyond transportation infrastructure, the project is expected to become a driving force for the formation of a modern logistics ecosystem, expansion of development space and enhancement of Da Nang’s position within the regional maritime economy. The city also affirmed its commitment to closely accompany and facilitate the project to ensure effective and on-schedule implementation.

Delivering directive remarks at the event, Mr. Pham Gia Tuc – Member of the Politburo and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister – emphasized the project’s strategic significance within Vietnam’s overall maritime economic development strategy.As a gateway connecting the East–West Economic Corridor to the East Sea, Lien Chieu Port is expected to become a driving force for logistics, industry and maritime urban development, contributing to enhancing Vietnam’s position within the international maritime network. He also requested that the project be implemented with determination and efficiency toward a Green Port – Smart Port model.

The project is being implemented at a time when Vietnam is strongly promoting policies for private sector development, science and technology, and modern infrastructure, in which enterprises play the central role, technology serves as the driving force and infrastructure acts as the foundation for growth.

The most anticipated moment came as leaders and representatives of the Consortium performed the groundbreaking ritual on stage, officially commencing the project.

Immediately following the ceremonial proceedings, delegates moved to the coastal area to witness the project’s first construction activities. Ship horns echoed across the vast sea, water cannons were activated and celebratory fireworks blended with the vibrant colors of the event banners, creating a vivid and symbolic image of a new beginning.

Developed under the Green Port – Smart Port model and applying IoT and AI technologies in management and operations, Lien Chieu Port is expected to become a modern logistics hub and an international trade gateway for Central Vietnam, contributing to enhancing Vietnam’s position on the global maritime map.The project has a total investment of more than VND 50 trillion (approximately USD 2 billion), including eight container berths with a total quay length of 2,750 meters, capable of accommodating the world’s largest container vessels.
