HATECO and DEEP C Inaugurate Green Office Complex: A Symbol of Vietnam–Belgium Cooperation
QUANG NINH, VIETNAM — April 2, 2025 – In a momentous stride toward strengthening international economic cooperation, Hateco Group and DEEP C Industrial Zones jointly inaugurated a cutting-edge Green Office & Service Complex within the Bac Tien Phong Industrial Park in Quang Ninh Province. The ceremony was attended by high-ranking dignitaries including H.E. Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, – Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Standing Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, along with the Majesty King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Kingdom of Belgium. The event also welcomed provincial officials such as Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Pham Duc An, Chairman of the Quang Ninh People’s Committee, and senior corp leaders from Belgian conglomerate Ackermans & van Haaren and leaders of DEEP C.

General Director of DEEP C, Bruno Jaspaert, gave a presentation regarding the implementation of the Bac Tien Phong Industrial Park project to Mr. Tran Van Ky, Chairman of Hateco Group, and Mr. Luc Bertrand, representing Ackermans & Van Haaren.
Located within the heart of Bac Tien Phong Eco-Industrial Park, the new Green Service and Office Complex is part of the Bac Tien Phong eco-industrial park complex, a collaborative undertaking between Hateco Group and DEEP C, spans nearly 12,000 square meters and was built with a total investment of USD 6 millions dollar . Designed to international sustainability standards, the complex proudly holds LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), underscoring the developers’ commitment to eco-conscious industrial growth. The complex features more than 4,000 square meters of premium office space available for lease, supported by comprehensive facilities such as a 300-seat auditorium, large meeting rooms, an on-site restaurant, a café, and concierge services—offering a holistic business environment for global investors and organizations. The project has achieved LEED Gold certification, an international standard for green buildings awarded by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly working environment for businesses and organizations.

Provincial leaders and representatives from the Economic Zone Authority also received a detailed briefing on the project’s development, expansion plans, and investment progress.
The Green Office Complex is part of the Bac Tien Phong Eco-Industrial Park – a joint venture between Hateco Group and DEEP C. With a total investment of USD 6 million and nearly 12,000 square meters of floor area, the complex offers over 4,000 square meters of modern leasable office space, a 300-seat auditorium, conference rooms, a restaurant, a café, and reception services. The project meets LEED Gold certification standards issued by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), ensuring a sustainable and environmentally friendly working environment for businesses and organizations.


Before the inauguration ceremony, delegates participated in a conference to discuss the strategic importance of the project.

The Bac Tien Phong Industrial Park, co-invested by Hateco and DEEP C, is envisioned as a modern hub for industry, seaport operations, and logistics – aiming to become a leading integrated industrial complex in Vietnam and globally. Spanning over 1,200 hectares, the park boasts advanced infrastructure and is attracting a wave of international investment. To date, it has welcomed over 30 secondary projects, including 26 foreign direct investment (FDI) ventures with nearly USD 1.5 billion in registered capital and 5 domestic projects totaling VND 40 trillion in investment. The development has created thousands of jobs for local workers and contributed significantly to Quang Ninh’s economic growth.

This high-profile event marked a successful conclusion and a powerful affirmation of the growing strategic partnership between Vietnam and Belgium. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde’s State Visit to Vietnam, part of a rare State Visit beyond Europe, signaled Belgium’s growing interest in Southeast Asia’s emerging markets, and is being viewed as a high-level affirmation of Belgium’s long-term strategic interest in Southeast Asia. Analysts note that the presence of Belgium’s monarch, who rarely undertakes trips outside of Europe, is a diplomatic gesture underscoring Vietnam’s growing stature as a stable, high-potential partner in the region. The symbolic timing of the inauguration – aligned with the royal visit – amplified its diplomatic and economic resonance. It also reflects a broader trend of European engagement in Vietnam’s green transition, digital economy, and sustainable infrastructure development.
Notably, The event also served as a platform for academic and technological dialogue, with the participation of 34 CEOs from leading Belgian and EU corporations in logistics, renewable energy transition, seaport developments and operations, alongside rectors and research leaders from 16 top major Belgian universities and institutions. This underscores Belgium’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding ties with Vietnam while jointly exploring new, high-potential areas of cooperation where both nations possess complementary strengths and mutual interests.
