Delegation of planning officials, members of the 14th Party Central Committee, visited and worked at wharf project No. 5 and No. 6 of Lach Huyen port area

Within the framework of the research and field survey program in Hai Phong city , on the morning of November 21, 2024 , the Central Party Planning delegation of the 14th term (3rd term) led by comrade Nguyen Duy Bac, Permanent Deputy Director of the  Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, visited and worked at the project of berths No. 5 and No. 6 of Lach Huyen port area , invested by Hateco Group .

At the working session, the comrades in the working delegation listened to comrade Le Trung Kien, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, introduce the general results of the development of Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone with typical projects; the potential and strengths of Lach Huyen Port in general and Wharf No. 5 and No. 6 in particular invested by Hateco Group. In particular, the Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board emphasized the biggest advantage when put into operation at Wharf No. 5 and No. 6 will help transport goods directly to America and Europe without having to transit through a third country.

On behalf of Hateco, Mr. Pham Van Khai, Deputy General Director of the Group thanked the delegation for choosing berths 5 and 6 of Hateco Group for the field survey and wished the training class officers many good results during the working trip. The Deputy General Director of the Group shared with the delegation updated information on the overall project of berths 5 and 6 of Lach Huyen Port that Hateco is in charge of investing in, such as: master plan, traffic infrastructure connection, construction progress. In particular, Deputy General Director Pham Van Khai informed the delegation about the policy of building berths 5 and 6 of Lach Huyen Port in the direction of a green, smart port with the largest scale in Vietnam, capable of simultaneously receiving ships with a tonnage of 200,000 DWT, equivalent to 18,000 TEU. When put into operation, berths 5 and 6 of Lach Huyen Port will contribute to improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods, contributing to the socio-economic development of Hai Phong in particular and the Northern region in general.

At the meeting, delegates in the working group were very interested in the seaport construction solution of Hateco Group, and raised a number of questions related to the operation and exploitation process such as capacity, shipping routes... and were fully answered by the leaders of Hateco Group , providing more information on the potential for exploiting the main freight routes in the region as well as the important role of Lach Huyen port in the shipping route from Asia to regions around the world.

At the end of the working session, the delegation acknowledged the efforts of Hateco Group in completing the task of investing in and constructing one of the important projects, which can be considered a model project contributing to the development of the marine economy of the Northern region. The delegation also thanked Hateco for providing information to help the planning staff of the 14th Party Central Committee have a more practical perspective to successfully complete the training program, thereby performing well the assigned tasks and responsibilities in the area.
