The substation is located within Bac Tien Phong Industrial Park, one of Quang Ninh’s fastest-developing zones, co-developed by DEEP C Industrial Zones and Hateco Group. Covering an area of 5,121.6 square meters, the substation is equipped with two transformers, each rated at 63MVA, bringing the total designed capacity to 126MVA. This capacity is sufficient to meet the current energy demands of operational factories while providing reserve power for future production expansion.

A defining feature of the project is the application of GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) technology—used for the first time in a 110kV substation in Quang Ninh. The GIS system, imported from Toshiba (Japan), allows for a compact footprint, stable operation, and significantly reduced maintenance costs. In addition, the 22kV medium-voltage switchgear is entirely supplied by ABB, a globally recognized leader in electrical equipment, ensuring efficient, reliable, and safe power transmission while minimizing the risk of technical failure.

The substation is also integrated with a centralized SCADA remote control system that enables real-time monitoring and operation. This system enhances the ability to detect anomalies early, respond promptly, and minimize service interruptions across the industrial park. The project stands as a result of seamless collaboration among regulatory agencies, project developers, contractors, and both domestic and international technical experts.

More than just a technical achievement, the commissioning of this substation reflects Quang Ninh’s commitment to adopting international standards in infrastructure and industrial development. The facility is expected to supply stable, uninterrupted electricity to Bac Tien Phong Industrial Park, delivering a high degree of operational reliability, especially during peak usage hours or adverse weather conditions.
