CEO OF A.P MOLLER - MAERSK AND SENIOR DELEGATION VISIT HATECO GROUP FOR WORKING SESSION

On the morning of 18 November 2025, Mr. Vincent Clerc, Chief Executive Officer of A.P. Moller - Maersk, led a high-level delegation on an official visit and working session with Hateco Group. The visit reflects Maersk’s particular interest in Hateco’s strategic roadmap for developing a comprehensive logistics ecosystem in Vietnam and opens up significant prospects for deeper and long-term cooperation between the two parties.

584512461_859303553295266_158921158571004989_nWithin the framework of the meeting, the Chairman of Hateco Group and the Executive Management presented an overview of the Group’s long-term development strategy and its flagship projects in logistics infrastructure, seaports, industrial parks and urban real estate. Hateco placed special emphasis on recent progress in building an integrated logistics and seaport ecosystem that prioritises technological innovation, green transition and strong global connectivity.

During the discussions, Maersk CEO Vincent Clerc highly appreciated the outstanding success of Terminals 5 and 6 at Lach Huyen Port in Hai Phong, for which Hateco is the project developer and operator. He expressed strong admiration for the project’s rapid implementation, the scale and quality of its infrastructure and its modern master planning, affirming that Lach Huyen is steadily consolidating its position as a critical node within the global seaport network.

According to Mr. Clerc, Hateco Haiphong International Container Terminal is a port facility developed to global standards, not only in terms of berth and yard infrastructure and management technology, but also in its capacity to connect regional and international supply chains. The project’s early commissioning, productivity exceeding initial plans and efficient operations have contributed significantly to enhancing the cargo-handling capacity of the Hai Phong area, improving Vietnam’s logistics competitiveness and attracting international shipping services, with Maersk as one of its core strategic partners.

The two parties also engaged in in-depth discussions on potential avenues for future cooperation, particularly their intention to jointly study and promote investments in logistics infrastructure projects in strategically important regions across Vietnam.

Following the working session at Hateco, CEO Vincent Clerc is scheduled to meet with and report to senior leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam on Maersk’s investment commitments and development strategy in the country. Collaborative projects with Hateco are expected to form one of the key components of this report.

Previously, in 2024, Mr. Robert Maersk Uggla, Chairman of A.P. Moller – Maersk, also visited and held a working session with Hateco Group. 

The consecutive presence of Chairman Robert Maersk Uggla in 2024 and CEO Vincent Clerc in 2025 carries particular significance. It reaffirms Hateco’s position as a key partner of the world’s leading maritime and logistics group in its strategy to expand and develop logistics infrastructure in Vietnam.
